Brian Moran's DPVA Fundraising During DMV Derecho Recovery

Some. People. Just. Don't. Get. It.

Brian Moran is indeed one of them.

My thoughts on the Democratic Party of Virginia Chairman (DPVA),  Brian Moran, are well known.

As many of you know, Friday, June 28, 2012, a derecho storm ravaged the Washington, DC area.  More than 1.2 million customers lost their electrical power.  At it's height, Dominion Power had about 400,000 million customers in Northern Virginia who lost their power (this is half of Dominion Power's customer base).  My power was not restored for five days (that is difficult enough for me, but imagine elderly residents having to go without power).

On July 2, 2012, I received a call on my cellular phone - I'd say about 1 PM - it was the DPVA's political fundraising operation (I was kind of shocked that Brian Moran didn't suspend fundraising efforts during this difficult period).  I told them that I, along with several residents in Northern Virginia, lost their power (I suggested that they start reading some of the major newspapers, like the Washington Post, USA Today - maybe watch CNN - that sort of thing).  I told them that fundraising really was the last thing on my mind right now - and that they should call back in another week - because I really don't know when I'm going to get electrical power.  Additionally, I recommended that the DPVA suspend fundraising for a week - at least until Virginia recovers from the storm (after all, half of Dominion Power's customers are in Northern Virginia - and I'd bet a sizable amount are Democrats - or have voted Democrat).  Yet, on July 5, 2012, I receive another call from the DPVA.

Brian Moran, the chief lobby for a ridiculous proprietary school association, has no pulse for reality.  He is an idiot on several levels.  He has no vision for the DPVA.  It's though he is driving a car and every location is in his blind spot.

If Terry McAuliffe runs for governor, his first action should be to ask Brian Moran to resign as Chair of the DPVA.

Good heavens, Brian, get real.  SMH.

Open Thread - Brian Moran's Accomplishments as Chair of the Democratic Party of Virginia

Not much going on today... quite a debate on Twitter about Brian Moran's tenure as Chair of the Democratic Party of Virginia. I think we can add to the debate if we list some of his accomplishments as chair... problem is, I know of none. And that is what this blog post is for... please comment away if you take this step.

Brian Moran LOL News Roundup!!!

It's been a while since we posted here at Brian Moran Watch... we have been busy, but we're about to crank it up again.

The Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) reported today that Harris Miller has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer and President of the organization. The news has already hit a major higher education trade journal. Brian Moran, the Executive Vice-President and General Counsel (and Chairman of the Democratic Party of Virginia), was named interim President. These are the kinds of schools that Brian represents.
LOL.

At first I laugh because I can't believe it... and then I really feel bad for students, many of whom will dig themselves into so much debt, they won't find a way out because of these predatory proprietary schools... and the DPVA chair is representing this group smh.

A tip of the hat to Blue Virginia (Lowell Feld) and Not Larry Sabato (Ben Tribbett), respectively, for getting the news out quickly.

What has happened to the Democratic Party of Virginia?
Really?

Brian Moran and Social Media. WTF.

So, our "dude", Brian Moran, as you might know, was "chosen" to lead the Democratic Party of Virginia. You know I have a few issues with Brian... like the fact that he can't win his own brother's Congressional district in a governor primary. SMH, and he's the Democratic party chair in Virginia.

One of the biggest weaknesses in the last couple of statewide elections in Virginia was that Democrats (and partcularly, the state leadership) had no plan to get the young people out to vote (see Creigh Deeds). When you have a plan to get young people out to vote, you can win statewide elections in Virginia... just ask Barack Obama.

One of the best ways to reach younger voters with your political message (not that Brian is using any other venue) is through social media... the fastest growing social media network in the United States and worldwide is Twitter. I have an account at HokieGuru. Guess what? Your Democratic Party Chairmen in Virginia is Twitter account free. The only sign of Brian Moran Twitter action is a parody account.

SMH!!! This is 2011, Brian... let's get it in gear!!! SMH!!!

Welcome to Brian Moran Watch

This blog will get going here soon... the author, @HokieGuru, is in graduate school at Georgetown right now (and has a lot going on), but the central purpose is to hold Brian Moran (the Democratic Party Chairman of Virginia) accountable. As I wrote on Virginia Democrat, no one has any idea what Brian's message is... or what type of message he is pushing... but if we put some spotlight on the subject, maybe he'll start working on it, eh? Have a great day... our Brian Moran watch will kick it in high gear very soon.
